Air travel below the seat the size of the bag meets the criteria of the airline, although our dog is small, she was tight in this bag, I honestly thought that it was too small for her after we first put it in the bag but then, when we exited the bag we found her alone snuggled up in it. I think maybe the snuggly bag made her feel safe. In flight we also unzipped the side so she could stick her cute little head out. I have the inside This bag has been washed a few times and the detachable padded seat is frayed at the bottom where it attaches with Velcro, but it can still be used earth. We also had 2 sibling kittens last week and I used this to transport both kittens at the same time (they were 8 weeks old at the time and weighed about 1.5lbs each). They had plenty of space in there, but they also like to lie on top of each other, so this may not work for all kittens. The harness was comfortable and the bag is well constructed, sturdy and has multiple zips for ventilation and little storage (we put the leash in the side pocket). I will buy another bag for my kittens when they grow up. Overall very happy with this product.
