We have kitties who are crazy about chewing on the standard white cords that come with most appliances. I don't know what's up with those white wires - kittens are drawn to them like magnets. So I wanted to get some braided cables instead. I bought these extension cables specifically to connect my BluRay DVD player, which requires two cables, to the front of my PC. This would allow me to put a DVD player on my desk where it would be far more useful. The cables worked like a charm. Now I can easily load and unload DVDs without having to dig under my desk. And cats don't chew wires. For some reason, the braided look isn't that appealing to her. I have a word of warning for people. If I connect my Samsung Galaxy phone directly to the front of my computer with a regular cable, I can charge my phone and transfer files at the same time. The phone is displayed as a device. But when I plug the phone into this extension cord, it only gets power. This is no longer a device that I can access. It's a bit strange. Apparently a fairly strong signal is required for transmission, which this extension cord does not provide. However, the Blu-ray DVD player works quite well with an extension cord. I can power things by extending them. And cats don't chew it. So it does what I need.
