Review on ๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ EZCast Beam J2 Portable Projector: Compact & Lightweight, High Brightness DLP Projector for Travel - Wi-Fi, Battery Powered, 1080P Support by Gary Zielinski

Surprisingly good for such a small and cheap package

I was pleasantly surprised by this little projector. It's brighter than I expected (although not bright enough for use in a lit room or in daylight) providing a good picture and 2 hour battery life for movies, which is my main goal for these (portable self-powered projector source) was. If you make the image much larger than 70 inches then the pixels will be visible (which I haven't found with other projectors) so expect that. Even if you plan to stream video from an iOS device you can because of rights protection Don't stream from Prime Video, Netflix, etc. - You'll need to use an HDMI streaming stick or Apple Lighting to HDMI adapter plugged into your phone or tablet. This is normal with these devices. Streaming other content from the phone works fine. I only tested with iOS. A speaker is fine if you're in a quiet room, but need to connect something else in a large or noisy room or outdoors. Here are a few oddities I found: The projector turns on. a bit slow - very faint at first, but after about 10 seconds it switches to full brightness. In addition, the charging indicator is always red. Of course (and this isn't a fad, it's a fact of life) as a micro projector you don't have all the inputs that a larger projector does. I hope you enjoy HDMI or Broadcast. The automatic keystone correction works very well, and it comes with a mini tripod and storage case, as well as a charger. Small size, battery life and auto keystone correction make it ideal for wall projection in bedroom or living room and camping. The only thing that would make it better (because it offers really great performance for the price) would be if it charged via USB, since in its current form you have to use a proprietary charger. I'm still playing with this little gem and will update this review later, but for now I'm very happy with this projector.

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • periodicity
