I'm a mason jar junkie. I love everything about Mason Jars. When I saw these spiralizers I just had to have them. I like to camp and it would be the perfect size for a hike, also I have a small kitchen so it's always been hard to pack away lately. I also have arthritis, so maybe that's part of the problem. I washed them and had to use them immediately. I pulled out some carrots and it was pretty easy at first, but as the carrots got thicker I found it very difficult to keep pushing and twisting the carrots. I think I actually broke one side of one of the spiral caps, but since I didn't test them before using them, I'm not sure. But the carrot got stuck and I had to dig it up. They're sharp and there's not much room, so I carefully dug them out. I ended up not stripping everything and changing the blade. If I just used it for zucchini or cucumber it might be very easy. I didn't try after that because I was just frustrated. I'll update my review once I decide to try again with softer veggies. And again I have arthritis in my hands so it might just be me. This is very convenient as the pieces fall straight into the jar so you don't have to clean anything up. Simply add the pieces to the pot or bowl and finish your recipe. I love this concept and they look so cool - I'm nervous right now. Don't hate, but don't love either.
