We live in an apartment with high ceilings, bought these to wipe down the ceiling fan above our bed as climbing the stairs is out of the question. For that it worked well. Since we only have one fan it's sturdy enough to get the job done from time to time and I dusted off the baseboards. If you plan to use this in a large house with multiple vacuuming jobs I would suggest a more expensive and durable feather duster. But for infrequent use it is quite suitable for us.
