I would like to start by saying that I am new to this field and have no pain in my legs. I don't know if they are effective for people with chronic foot pain. I just noticed that my pinky and adjacent toes are a little crooked so I wanted to try something to even that out before they got messed up and started hurting. I've only worn them for a few days but I like them. They are very comfortable, soft and easy to put on. They hold up well too. It's a bit unfamiliar when walking, but you get used to it. Didn't try to wear them with shoes, just barefoot around the house. In general I am very satisfied with the purchase. I hope that if I wear them enough, my fingers will survive the program and stop curling!
