Since green gas costs about $12 a can, prices can go up quickly, especially if you play airsoft or just shoot a lot. Basically, green gas is just propane mixed with a small amount of silicone oil. A disposable camping propane tank holds 16 ounces, twice the size of most green gas canisters, and costs literally a quarter of the price. It doesn't get any smarter. Silicone oil is also cheap and 4 oz. The bottle can last a long time. A good rule of thumb is to fill the small reservoir with silicon oil every 3 magazines (weapons). Although this works well in most cases, propane fumes will sometimes escape from the adapter after the magazine is full. Sometimes the propane leaked right out of the nozzle and didn't even make it to the store, often squirting liquid propane all over my arm. This only happens when the adapter has cooled down significantly after filling several magazines at once. On rare occasions when I unscrew the cap to fill the tank with silicone oil, propane starts leaking out of the hole. I can see tiny propane bubbles in the silicone oil when full. The quality of workmanship corresponds to the price. In my case it is fully functional but leaks every now and then. I suggest removing the adapter from your propane tank when not in use to ensure it doesn't leak on its own.
