Stable connection - great upgrade from Gotcha

As an owner of the original Gotcha, a Gotcha Evolve and a Gotcha Classic, all with various disconnection issues, poor battery life and extremely awkward charging methods, the Duomon has been great so far.I've tested this device for a total of five hours of play; and it has stayed connected the entire time, only dropping once per hour for the system-mandated reconnect. Not having to touch the button on the device is very convenient. In comparison, my Gotcha Classic purchased in January 2022 had a battery life of less than two hours on one full charge, and that second hour was typically plagued by disconnects or my phone not being able to find the device at all. Even on a full charge, the Gotcha would 'idle' with the spinning connecting icon for up to 15 seconds, then fail to connect repeatedly; this device pairs and connects within five seconds each time.Autocatch/spin speeds seem to be similar to the Gotcha while stationary, however I haven't tried using the device while travelling at speed. While the AAA battery use is a little annoying, the convenience is excellent; no more having to tear a wrist strap off and deal with an awkward one-way USB connection (Evolve) or barely-magnetized clip (Classic). The device is also quite bulky relative to the Gotcha watch bands, however this issue is largely eliminated given that you simply need to switch the device on and then interact with the app alone to connect and reconnect - just stash it in your bag or pocket and forget about it. This also has the benefit of preventing sweat or rain from interfering with the device, and means you can avoid the over-sensitive touch capacitance issues of the Gotcha Classic screen (often randomly activating when wearing capacitive clothing e.g. a leather jacket). Not sure about how long it will take to drain batteries, but so far (5 hours in) no issues re: battery life.If you're using a Gotcha and plagued with connection drop-outs, a failure to connect or poor battery life, this is certainly an upgrade worth considering (alongside some rechargeable batteries or an unwatched office stationery cabinet.). After endless troubleshooting of my Gotcha Classic, having a device that works consistently and without fuss has been excellent. If I can, I'll update this review in several months with some more long-term usage reports.
