I bought both a narrow twink and a regular twink for a trailer. My pillows in them are good but a bit thin. They followed the call! Great addition to my Jump Jack. Think of them like the 80's fold-out baby cots/seats without a pillow. How would you make a triple pillow/mattress that aren't separate pillows? If you are looking for a thin but not too thin mattress, this is the place for you. He is skinny. It's 3 inches. Not his or her 3 inches, but the real 3 inches. Same with 5". They are foam so they are a bit firm but not hard and can compress. I would say medium density foam. I see many uses for them and I really like them. The only thing that irritates me is the lack of dust protection. These cases are nice and soft on the top and breathable on the bottom. The foam can sweat so it needs to be breathable (generally). As for the smell, maybe a little, but if you let it air out in the packaging for 72 hours it goes away er. It really wasn't bad at least mine was barely noticeable. Eventually I left mine open for two days to fully stretch it out. It doesn't take you that long but I like being safe there. Overall I would buy again. It's cheaper than stuff from the local store and it's time to make your own pillows, so A+
