I got these as spares as we use LED bulbs throughout the house and contrary to what the manufacturers say they don't last forever. To test this I replaced it with one of the lightbulbs in the kitchen and immediately noticed that it was no brighter than the lightbulb it had replaced. It was the same color as the one it replaced, 2700K which I prefer but thought it should be lighter. The existing bulb used about 5-6 watts and this one uses 9. Both are rated for the equivalent of 60 watts and I think about the same brightness. So this bulb uses about 50% more power for the same amount of light. I also noticed that the Simba bulb was a lot lighter than the one I currently have. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but I think it means the bulb doesn't have much thermal sync to dissipate excess heat and this can shorten its lifespan. As it is, I'll keep those pears in reserve.
