I was very happy with this shelf. I love the way the floating shelves look, but in the past I've put a lot of effort into hanging them. This shelf was damaged - the box it came in just fits on the shelf so the product is not protected. You should seriously consider shipping it in a larger box with packing material or foam to protect the shelf. I ended up gluing the pieces together, sanding and painting the shelf because I didn't want the hassle of sending it back. It really worked and looks very nice! But I'm disappointed because I didn't want to do a DIY project. The shelf itself was easy to assemble. However, promotional videos in which a woman simply sticks hooks in the wall are a joke. I needed a hammer to install this. It seems solid enough - I only have a few books and photos. Let's see how it holds up.
