These are described as "buttery soft" and they are! I love these shorts for multiple purposes: They are high-waisted and non-binding. I am a plus-sized, pear-shaped older woman and wear these for lounging around the house and sleeping in. They are also useful for me under a dress/skirt and are perfectly good for what they are marketed for. They never slide down or create the need for tugging or adjusting. While I buy the XL, I could easily wear the L. I am 5'5" at 190 lbs. I now own 12 pairs of these scoring my last 6 at an amazing price during a sale!
