Really Nice Super Badger Brush

I'm a big fan of Simpson brushes as well as Thater, Vie Long, Morris & Forndran and Kent. I bought this brush to see what Edwin Jagger had to offer in the world of high end shaving brushes. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this Super Badger shaving brush works. Density. As I said before, I'm a fan of Simpson's brushes, which are notoriously dense. Edwin Jagger Super Badger isn't incredibly dense, but neither are my other high quality/expensive brushes, which are incredibly dense. This brush has enough density to give it a solid base for soaps and creams. Softness - I wouldn't call this brush very flexible. It's not flexible, but it's not rigid either. I think it's a great balance between the two. Softness is a very soft and comfortable brush. Whether I'm lathering my face, lathering a bowl (mostly for me), or lathering with my hands, this brush feels soft to the touch while lathering. It's a different softness than my Simpson Best Duke 3. It has a good amount of scratches that come off nicely with lathering. The foam is enough for three shaves and the foam is enough for touch-ups. The size. When I bought this brush I noticed that some people were a bit surprised by the size of the brush. Some even remarked that it is too small for brushes. While not as big as my Simpson Chubby 2 or 3, it's a good size and doesn't feel too small in my hands. I have XL hands. The shape and ribs of the handle really don't make the smaller size an issue for me. This is a very comfortable size for my hand. I've used this brush for both soaps and creams and super foam and with everything I toss this EJ brush is excellent! If you're looking for a great brush at a great price, check out the Edwin Jagger Super Badger. If you're on a slightly larger budget and can get a brush in the $100-$175 range, I'd recommend Simpson, Thater, Vie Long, or Morris & Forndran. But at this price this is a great brush!
