I have three brushes: Clean, Super and Silver. You can't really tell there's a huge difference between the Super and Silvertip, although Silvertip holds more water and is a bit softer. I've been using this comb for a little over a month and I've only lost a hair. It retains a lot of water, which is good for wet shaving. I've had the same brush for over 15 years. To be honest, I never wash it off and leave it wet in a bowl of shaving cream with damp soap. It looks and feels the same as the day I bought it. Soft but not too soft. Holds shaving cream well. Need another one so I can leave one in our RV. I expect to get (at least) a good 15 years out of it.

I chose the Super Badger version over the better Badger EJ brush simply because it was only $30 more expensive and it was handmade. Although I can only compare it to the very cheap Van der Hagen boar brush that I also own, I can say that I have no regrets buying it. Just received the brush and used it last night and immediately noticed it was a huge improvement over my other brush. I've only recently started wet shaving, but I really liked this brush. This is a good brush if you like small knots. The brush holds plenty of water and blends what I think is a finer lather. He lost part of the badger, but not enough to find fault with it. My Semogue Boar 830 foams better than the average Jagger Super Badger; but 830 isn't as soft and the tips can be a little scratchy if the boar brush isn't soaked well before lathering - a good soak takes about 15 minutes in a glass of hot water to soften the bristles and bristle tips. . Was looking for a quality shaving brush for travelling. I am impressed with this product. This is the first synthetic badger hair brush I've bought and I'm very impressed. Maybe not as soft as a real silver badger, but dense enough and holds water well. Works perfectly. I have even recommended this brush to others.

Having used this brush for several months I am very disappointed in the quality and performance of this item. Much better brushes are available for the same price or less. I expected more from a reputable company like Edwin Jagger. My advice: Check out other options before purchasing this item.
