My husband bought this cable (I think it cost about $25) to make our old TV work as a Smart TV. Yes, that wasn't a problem - just see the comment below about what you have for the TV). To be honest, I didn't think it would work because when we searched the web for options, each of the suggested solutions seemed to consist of 487 steps. But it worked. We have an old TV (6-7 years ago, counting from 2018) with "three holes" (for yellow, red and white connections). We basically followed the instructions and plugged the cables where we needed them. My only advice with this hardware-related nonsense is to try and figure out exactly what you have - can be a daunting task, but it will allow you to buy the right products. Then follow the instructions - we had certain things to do in a certain order, but it was very quick, maybe just a minute or two and we were watching a movie on TV. We saved a lot of money for a new TV and kept something useful from going to landfill.
