Review on Sony 8T160VR VHS Cassettes 160 Minutes (8-Pack) - Discontinued Model for Extended Recording by Joseph Hall

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The tapes are of very poor quality.

I've used hundreds of recordable VHS tapes in 2 different cassette decks I have. I've never had a problem with any of them. Until I tried to use them. None of the 16 worked properly. Fast-forwarded the first 5-15 minutes of playback. By the time they really started taking semi-accurate shots, they were covered in snow, in some cases to the point where the image was barely visible and downright impossible to see and enjoy. This will be the ONLY time I buy this brand. The quality is absolutely terrible. Every other brand I've ever used has worked way, MUCH better than this one. They cannot be relied on even for the most basic functions during recording. And yes, it's based on what Sony calls the PREMIUM class. Apparently there is no quality control at all before going on sale. If you didn't have a problem with yours, you're in luck with the draw. NEVER AGAIN!
