3 minutes to heat up. . . so they say. . . closer to 8-9 minutes to warm up. Shuts down quickly, takes a long time to heat up. I was also very disappointed with the instructions. . . Photos only, no written directions or directions. The pictures are beautiful, sweet and easy to misunderstand. The photos show that there is a way to delay the shutdown time from 8 to 30 minutes but I can't figure out how. I went to their website but the instructions and directions are only in the photos. There are no words for this. It would be nice to have both photos and words. Very disappointed. A lot of money for a device that is not needed.
