Tried refurbished

This iron takes a long time to heat up, the steam setting doesn't always work. I read the manual and did not find it helpful. My mom has this iron and I love it. I was trying to save money and I think I bought a lemon. It's big and bulky. I have a small built in ironing board in my main closet and it takes up a lot of space on my shelf.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • There are some nuances

I HATE this iron: Irons and steam irons

The auto shut off is annoying. The iron takes forever to heat up again. Got this to replace my old Rowenta steam generator (which never shut down). If you're squeezing while sewing or quilting, this iron is a TERRIBLE choice due to the auto shut off and time it takes to heat up. If you iron all the time, then I think everything will be fine. I do NOT recommend this iron.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Not the best

The automatic switch-off only works after three minutes.

This product is not at all suitable for sewing, quilting or dressmaking or for any other purpose that requires a break from other operations. The automatic switch-off works after just three minutes. Then turn the iron back on and wait a few minutes for steam to come out again. I thought my iron was defective but the Rowenta factory assures me it was done on purpose. DO NOT BUY this item unless you intend to use it for permanent ironing only.

The perfect steam iron!

We have been tracking this product for about a year when it was over a few hundred dollars. I now know it would have been worth every dollar and is more valuable now at the price we bought it for, about a hundred and a half less for the wait and risk of the item being discontinued. We iron and steam a lot and have never had a problem with this machine. I have seen reviews showing this unit leaking and other issues and I know this is the result of possible mishandling and damage as well as…

Wife loves it - Iron

My wife had another brand that lasted about 4 years but when she stopped I found that this model had been discontinued. She reluctantly tried it and after a week of use she said it was much better than the previous one. She said this one was much lighter and at first thought a heavier iron was better but changed her mind. A little advice I can give to people who use these steam irons is to always use distilled water in them. Distilled water extends the life of the iron significantly. Distilled…

Warming up takes a long time!

3 minutes to heat up. . . so they say. . . closer to 8-9 minutes to warm up. Shuts down quickly, takes a long time to heat up. I was also very disappointed with the instructions. . . Photos only, no written directions or directions. The pictures are beautiful, sweet and easy to misunderstand. The photos show that there is a way to delay the shutdown time from 8 to 30 minutes but I can't figure out how. I went to their website but the instructions and directions are only in the photos. There are

Heavy vapor, the shutdown is VERY annoying

I've been using it for about a month. I'm a quilter and was looking forward to a powerful steam and a rare filling of a jar with water. These things are true and wonderful. However, what strikes me is how quickly it shuts off if I let it sit, and then it's very difficult to turn it back on. It relies on your interpretation of the blinking lights to tell you what it's doing. There is no real information in the "instruction manual" - just cryptic pictograms. *There is no text at all*. Eventually…
