Why 3 pin? For a cheap buy, most "Value" products are two-pronged products that are only good for basic devices. The 3-pin extension cable is suitable for all devices. Why quality? Again, cheap products can cause problems. Thinner wires overheat. Thinner insulation can cause electrocution, especially when wear and tear (and pets) take their toll over time. Fortunately, this Coleman cable is the perfect combination of product type (3-pin), quality and price. Would definitely recommend and will buy again if I need an extension. Bonus: The plug's low profile (where it plugs into the wall) is perfect for any outlet with a sofa or other piece of furniture that's leaning against the wall.
