Is worth its weight in gold. My son bought a used 325i with the dashboard on fire due to a traction control malfunction. Went to the local auto parts store and used their scanner. Nothing. The alignment was recently done, now the steering has become perfectly straight. I went through all possible reasons before buying a scanner. Scanned and found the steering sensor has been disabled by a trouble code that is triggered and disables traction control. The scanner guided me through recalibrating the steering sensor and the issue was resolved. Where I live it's between $110-$140, just call a mechanic to get a diagnosis (do what I did). This covered its cost on first use.
