Both buttons are programmed well. I programmed the button myself (tutorials on YouTube) and drove it to Nissan to program the transponder chip. They warned me that many of these aftermarket keys wouldn't be programmable and would still need charging if they didn't, but mine is programmed well. Programming at the dealership was $80, which was a lot cheaper than going to any local locksmith.
