Great soap when used correctly!

This is a really great soap. I was a soap writer for a while but canceled my subscription. Not because I didn't like the products - they were fantastic! But now I make my own soap inspired by Dr. swatch. I ordered this Pine Tar soap from Revain to test (from Revain, not directly from Squatch) and to write a verified review. There are some negative reviews for it and I will cover those points here. First, it's COLD PROCESS soap! You can't treat it 100% like the soap you buy in the store, it's completely different. This soap is much softer and you need to keep it away from water. If you leave it somewhere where it constantly gets water, it will melt and you will become a sad panda. This is not an isolated case with Dr. Squatch makes up the bulk of any cold-pressed soap. Keep soap up, dry and happy people. The scent of Revain Pine Tar Soap was really strong when I opened the package. It has a Pine Sol scent. Outside of the Revain packaging, this is heavily distributed. The scent of the soap doesn't really linger on my skin like other soaps Squatch makes. This is probably because the soap contains virtually no essential oil or fragrance oil. The ingredient list is different on the website and on my packaging. The soap I received had no essential or fragrance oils listed, this is not on the website. Other squatch soaps I've used definitely leave me scented for the next 3-4 hours, but not with this Pine Tar bar. This is probably because the soap contains no essential/aromatic oils and the amount of pine resin in the soap is really minimal. You may or may not like the smell, just know that it will be much stronger than usual from the Revain box. Pine Tar Soap contains sand and oatmeal for exfoliation. I read a review here that said there was wood shavings. It's crazy. oatmeal and sand. I didn't find them spicy at all. I have no skin problems but the soap makes my skin smooth and soft. With all Squatch soaps, I use fishing line to cut each bar into 4 pieces before using. It seems to me that the smell disappears after about a week of use. This has been the case with all squatch soaps I've used. I suspect it's just water seeping into the soap and bringing the oils closer to the surface. As this is repeated, more and more oils are attracted to the soap's surface, and when you get below a certain point, they're gone. Cutting chunks keeps me from using unscented soap for weeks at a time as 1/4 bar of soap goes almost 2 weeks. It is: MAGGIFT Detachable Natural Boar Brush Long Handle Body Brush for Cleansing Dry Skin Removing Dead Skin and Toxins Exfoliating and Exfoliating Shower Brush Massage Brush Body Brush for Dry Skin 16 inch) I keep the soap off the water at all times now. After lathering the brush a few times (and all by me), I pick up the bar of soap and lather again, using the soap on the skin instead of the brush. When I'm done showering, I apply soap to the rubberized shower head that sits behind my showerhead. He is totally and completely outside of any stream of water. I was able to shower 13 times (from 1/4 bar) with this bar of soap. So the whole bar could shower for me up to 50 times. I create much later and basically lather twice every time I shower. I don't use soap at all! A few more points. This soap contains very little pine resin. There are soap formulations that contain up to 20% pine resin. The amount in this soap is far from it, it's definitely less than 5% of the soap based on the ingredients list and probably 1-2%. If you're trying to get rid of a skin condition, you can buy them elsewhere or try making them yourself. The ingredients on my box do not match the website. Either something is wrong or the formula has changed. I suspect if the formula were changed to the one now listed on the website the soap scent would linger outside the shower. Remember that soap is a washable product and you won't smell like you've doused yourself in ax spray or anything. If you want to smell like the forest all day, maybe take some cedarwood essential oil. I have attached the photos to this review. The first of the boxes. The second - after 7 showers, and the last - after 11 showers. I got 13 souls from a piece. In the end, an odor remained in the piece, but it wasn't as strong as it was at the beginning. Again, I ALWAYS kept the bar of soap away from the water jet. Do not purchase this or any cold pressed soap if you will be storing it in a place where it will be constantly exposed to water. It's better to just take your money ($10 in this case) and light it. Keep soap away from water. In summary, this is a great soap! Keep it away from water vapor and it will last for a while. You may or may not like the smell. If you're not sure, sniff some diluted Pine Sol. It's pretty close. The soap does not contain much real pine resin. So if you're looking to alleviate skin issues, you might want to look at another brand that contains more pine resin. I have been very satisfied with all Dr. squatch Before I tried them, showering was something I did. But since I've been using Squatch soap, I'm really looking forward to the shower, which is very nice. I love the feel of it on my skin and my wife loves the scent. If you treat your soap properly, it will last a long time. No problem for me - high-quality soap is definitely worth the small extra charge!
