I was looking for something to store my rods. I have several solid bars that won't break and don't fit well in my trunk or car. It was a great find. They fit snugly in my OEM BMW roof bars. The straps hold the rods very securely and the straps make almost no noise when moving. Once installed, the holders themselves can be easily removed when not in use. Just give it a quick twist and it will be gone in no time. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to install bars, paddles etc on a roof rack. Note. For security I added a Mongoose bike lock (also purchased from Revain) which I wrap around the coils and roof rack. This should keep him extremely secure and be a good deterrent.
