Review on πŸ”Œ Optimized Data Cable for Samsung Galaxy Note by Cesar Carter

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It looks like the connectors (USB3 to Micro-USB3) are OEM Samsung and the cable between them is NOT!

In August 2016 when I purchased my $4.99 cable it was either NOT an OEM product or a poor quality and poorly manufactured OEM product. Connections are perfect. and the cable works well *enough* for a $5 cable. Baud rate and voltage are within acceptable limits. I just don't know how long this cable will last. You can tell it's poorly constructed as the thickness of the cable varies along the length of the line. --- ACTUALLY, if you look closely at the photo of this item, you can see on the USB side down that the cable is fully crimped and much thinner than the micro USB side! --- Not only that, but the embossing of the cable with their specs is NOT UNIFORM throughout the length of the cable and it seems that they damage the cable in some places as they go in too deep. The specifications are also not legible in other areas because they are not engraved deeply enough. (It should be noted that most cables are either embossed or "stamped" on the specs, or simply have letters printed, essentially painted on). I have never seen a Samsung OEM cable that had these issues. and I've had over 25 of them. Regardless, the cable WORKS. It's just not the quality I expected. It looks like the connectors (USB3 to Micro-USB3) are OEM Samsung but the cable between them is NOT!
