A few years ago I wore the Gel Nimbus line and stopped buying them due to a serious design flaw: the eyelets for the laces were not reinforced and the laces twitched well, strongly twitched when tying right through the Trunk! This has happened a couple of times and Asics has offered to replace it but that didn't stop it from happening again and again.Luckily Asics fixed that recently and the lugs are all reinforced with metal now so I have mine First order placed for the Asics Gel Nimbus in many years with great pleasure When this review was originally written I had just received my first pair of new Gel Nimbus running shoes in about 5 years and have now updated upon my return - more on that in a moment .Nimbus 20 feels less plush and springy than previous generations, and a call to Asics confirmed this - they are actually less padded than previous generations. I loved the Nimbus 12, 13, 14 etc with sorry gone. I have a large foot and the 14D fits me perfectly, but the shoes just haven't been comfortable for a very long time. I like the new full mesh shell, it breathes really well - too bad it's not as soft as it used to be. I brought them back and switched to the very comfortable and well-cushioned Brooks Calderas shoes instead (note: the Caldera is a very wide shoe). If they hadn't changed the padding I would still wear them.
