Appears like high quality leather, just over 1/16 inch thick, strong and sturdy yet flexible. Much more protection than a suitcase. It looks well made and durable. It doesn't scratch the inside, but it's bare skin, so I still plan on wrapping the glasses in a soft cloth while they're in the case. Latch works well, doesn't open any easier than it should. The finish I have is attractive and even although there are a few small dark spots. 6" wide and 1" thick on the inside, although glasses thicker than this fit fairly easily. My bulkiest glasses fit perfectly. Brass Tacks is a new brand from China.
