Review on πŸͺ Stay Hydrated with the CAMELBAK M.u.l.e. Lr 15 Hydration Backpack by Christian Poojary

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Heavy hydration pack but great for long walks thanks to the large reservoir

This is my third hydration pack. I recently ordered the following three backpacks because I wanted to compare them and also rotate them on 2 hour trips each week. 4 stars. 2 - Thule (pronounced "toolie") Uptake Hydration Pack, 8L with 2.5L Hydrapak - approx. 85 fl oz - excellent pack; 5 Stars. This is my absolute favorite backpack because it strikes a balance between good design and functionality.3 - Osprey Women's Salida 8 (approx. 85 oz) - Great backpack, but the straps are a little fiddly; 4 stars. Camelbak weighs almost 3 pounds (2 pounds 11+ ounces as shown in the first photo) compared to under 1 pound for Thule and 1 pound 4 ounces for Osprey. well thought through. It is very convenient for walking, cycling or hiking and has a large cargo space. There are no instructions in this package, but I couldn't find any. I have included a video, a photo of the weight of the empty package and a photo of the front of the package. BENEFITS: There are multiple loops throughout the package including one on the bottom to attach a bike light. , hang your helmet with a carabiner, etc. - There is a zippered outer pocket lined with soft fabric to store small items such as cell phone, lip balm, wipes, etc. - The main pocket is cavernous with a zippered mesh pocket that can be used for a cell phone or similar sized item. There is a key hook in this pocket. I would have preferred it to be on the outside as the buttons can get stuck in the mesh. There are also hose loops. An unused loop can be used to hang something in the backpack. The 100 oz hydration bladder is located on the back of the backpack in a separate compartment. There's an external flap held in place by a button and then it's in a zipped compartment behind. There is a strap holding the bladder and the hose can be unhooked so it can be filled. While I like the screw top, it takes about four days to dry compared to the zipper type. The inside of the packaging that the bottle is in appears to be waterproof as I had a lot of water inside all over the place. Pack and it didn't leak - External valve that closes bladder for hydration has another zippered pocket for storage. In addition, the hydration compartment pockets include a rain cover and a small 3-pocket mesh pocket for storing bike tools. The backpack has adjustable waist and chest straps. The chest straps are high, so for someone like me who is overweight, the backpack is higher in the shoulder area than I would like. The tubing to the reservoir is routed through loops to keep it in place and has a snap-on shoulder clip. lower bite valve.- The bite valve has a locking mechanism to prevent leakage. However, it is not removable. I wish it were because the pipe is difficult to dry. The backpack has thick padding on the shoulders and lower back for extra comfort. Overall I like how this backpack is designed and how comfortable it is to use. It will sit high on the shoulders for a busty woman once the chest strap is closed. Because of this, there was space between the straps and my shoulders. The hydrator has an unpleasant taste, but it's not as bad as other bubbles I've tried that taste like a shower curtain. My biggest complaint is the weight of this backpack. That's twice as much as other packaging when empty. However, since the tank holds an additional 15 ounces of water, this backpack is better suited for longer trips. It takes about four days to dry since this hydrator is in two halves and the design allows water to pool in the corners. This is definitely a solid 4 star pack meant for those times when you need more hydration and more room in a hydration pack.

Pros

Cons
  • It's fine
