I just want to say that I am about a 13 Handicap and have broken 80 once in my life. My goal has always been to have a shot at 79 everytime I go out to play. However, my driving usually made the feat quite difficult. I was skeptical about playing a USGA non-conforming ball at first but considering the fact that I will never compete in a US Am or Mid-Am persuaded me to try these balls out. So I originally purchased a trial pack from the Polara website. Took them out to the local executive course to try out. OMG! These balls are absolutely amazing! I had a legitimate shot at a 33 on the back nine that day, and continually break 40 for 9 holes most days with this ball. I am now a Polara customer for life!I began to only line the ball up with my target from the tee, and then played around with adjusting my lie only in the fairway to see how the ball flies when aligned vs. not aligned. Here is what I discovered:1) The ball flies straight - Slices turn into baby "Nicklaus" fades. The dimple pattern causes the ball to self correct in flight. These XDS balls have a normal trajectory with every club, unlike the other Polara balls which have a lower trajectory.2) Wonderful feel - i thought that these balls would be lacking here, but pure iron and wedge shots feel like "butta!" I'd compare these to a Titeleist NXT tour in feel.3) LONG! - Since these balls fly STRAIGHT (no distance lost left/right) with little side spin, they release when they land. When i played regular golf balls, I put so much spin on the drive that when they landed, they stuck, robbing me of distance.4) Fairway play - When I lined the arrow up with my target from the fairway, they flew straight.when I didn't, they flew strainght! The only difference I noticed was when you lined the ball up, there was more lift and flew only slightly higher. I also noticed that if you placed the ball with the alignment arrow perpendicular to the target, wedge shots had a lot of spin. Definitely one-hop-and-stop.5) Putting - Has a nice soft feel.not balata soft, but deftinitely soft. Rolled true, regardless of the assymetrical dimple pattern.6) Intangibles - This ball allowed soooo much more than the above review:- FUN: Regularly having birdie and par putts is what it's all about! You can start trying to strategize more and enjoy the course your playing rather than getting frustrated with lost ball after lost ball!- Time Saver: You are in the fairway or slightly in the rough. Not a pond, the woods, a neighbors dog house.- Confidence: No more jitters on tee boxs! just try to put the best swing you can on it and let it fly. This confidence then translates to all other facets of your game- Focus on other parts of game: Now you can really focus on improving the most important part of the game.getting the ball in the hole (wedge play and putting).I highly recommend this ball to any player not attempting to get into a USGA event. And for you purists out there, give us a break! Golf is a hobby and a form of recreation. Its not meant to be frustrating! The game is inherently difficult and you still need to gauge the environment/course/lie, select the right club, play the right shot, read a green, and execute a swing. This ball simply gives you confidence to keep putting in the effort and concentration to do your best. I can honestly say that I now have a shot at 79 each time I go out!Happy golfing!
