I've finally found the right product. The case is easily removed with a simple twist and lift, it can be microwaved and washed. Previous vacuum containers couldn't be washed in the dishwasher [water stayed in] but that's amazing! The insulated metal sleeve stays clean, leaving only the clear plastic and cover to clean. [The metal sleeve should only be wiped with a damp cloth if handled with dirty hands. The jar holds heat and cold very well, and the jar's transparent design allows me to see what's inside if I need to put it in the fridge. Also, I contacted Thermos and they sent me extra clear containers at a very low price as I thought someone had accidentally thrown one away. I can wash one and put it right back in to use the next morning. My kids can easily open the container as the clear handles also give them something to pry on. I haven't had a single leak [which also had issues with previous products]. He is often thrown onto his side and thrown into a punching bag or backpack. I really love this product and it really lasts. Very smart design.
