Review on JJC Lens Hood Shade Protector for Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 is II USM – Replacement for Canon Lens Hood ET-74B | Reversible Bayonet Mount with Lock/Release Button by Andrew Agarwal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Essentially indistinguishable from a Canon lens hood, but cheaper.

The markup on Canon lens hoods is crazy. The only difference I see between this lens hood and the Canon lens hoods that came with my L-series lenses is that most (but not all) Canon lens hoods have flocking on the inside of the lens hood, to control reflections. It has a polka dot interior that does the job well. If you think it matters, you can spend $5 on a can of black spray at a craft store and still spend less than half what Canon overcharges for a piece of plastic.
