This chair is comfortable when standing upright. And it snaps into place when you snap it straight up. I thought it would lock into place when I leaned on it and used the mechanism, but it didn't. The reason for the low level of comfort is that I really needed it to be able to snap into place when reclined for back support, or often when adjusted in chairs. It was easy to put together until we got our hands on it.
