Screen cracked within 1 month of Chromebook receipt. My son's classmate dropped his school bag on the top of the screen while the Chromebook was open. The protective film is torn, but not critical. My son claimed the Chromebook's screen was cracked a lot more under the protective film. I didn't believe him at first, but after removing the protective film, I realized that the crack on the screen itself was much worse than the cracks on the protective film. While I was hoping that a screen protector would be able to better protect the screen, I understand that a hard enough direct hit might be beyond a screen protector's capabilities, but shouldn't the screen protector have more impact than the actual screen underneath the screen protector? This made me wonder if the screen protector really protects the screen from collisions.
