Review on 🌑️ Smart Programmable Thermostat Temperature Controller: Compatible with Leading Systems by Clint Mcloven

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The US version I received is rated for 10 amp circuit only

very neat product. It's almost what I need, but not quite what I need. Setting it up with the Smart Life app for Android was pretty easy. The application isn't as intuitive as it could be, but you can find out. The app has all the features I was looking for: - Main switch: you can turn the load on or off manually (via the app) - Simple thermostat: you can set a single temperature setpoint and the unit will turn on/off depending on the load Temperature. Programmable thermostat: You can set time-based set points four times a day, like most programmable oven thermostats. The thermostat works and as far as I know regulates the temperature very well. . (The temperature sensor's absolute calibration can vary by a few degrees, but if that worries you, the app provides a way to set a calibration offset to fix this.) I'd give it four stars (minus one star). for the app's not-so-great UI design), except that: There is a sticker on the box stating that the device is only rated to switch a 10 amp load (this is the 120 volt US version of the product). Revain's product page clearly states that it is rated for a 15 amp load. The product manual that was in the box also states that it is rated for 15 amps. The product itself (bottled in a plastic sleeve) says 15 amps. The heater I plan to use draws 12.5 amps. I can't imagine there being very many heaters or air conditioners that draw less than 10 amps on the "high" setting. So two more stars off for false advertising and not being able to use this with my heater. unless I exceed what is stated on the label on the packaging. This is so close to what I need. Aggravating.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
