open design means I can hear what's going on around me while running. Controls are easy. The problem is that the ear cups hang from the ear loops. So if you're looking for the fit you get with a drop-in earbud, you won't get it. Even with my phone in my back fanny pack, I sometimes get Bluetooth hiccups. When my phone is attached to a bracelet or I turn it sideways or in front of my body, it works great.
