they have several downsides. First, they're smaller than standard BR20s, meaning they don't go well with the built-in light I have in my apartment. Second, they are noisy. With six installed (and of average hearing) I couldn't shake the buzzing noise of Bzzzz overhead. Finally, they take about a second or more to turn on, fade to about 25%, and aren't a soft white. You are closer to daylight. Suffice it to say that I am sending them back.
