These cables seem to carry USB signals well, but they don't do much provide strength. For example, an XBox360 controller connected here will flake off when you use the vibrate function, but if you connect a self-powered hub (i.e. with its own power adapter) to this cable and then to this controller, it works fine. . USB3 devices (including hard drive enclosures) work the same way - as long as they aren't powered through this cable they work reasonably well, but when powered through this cable only low power devices (or all) will work reliably. The female end is a little too loose, and an almost imperceptible vibration can sometimes cause a USB3 device to momentarily lose connection, despite supplying its own power.
