The only purpose of this review is to warn future owners of this router - do not ate the firmware (microcode) in any case ! Mine came with version 3.0.0.4_380_858, everything worked right away (including 2.4 and 5G). Followed the recommendations from the user manual and ated the microcode to version 380_2345. After the ate, 5G disappeared . At first I decided that something had burned out . but a long search in the ASUS forums helped - I found in a discussion of a completely different router that the firmware ate was killing 5G . Fortunately, the ASUS support site also has version 380_858, and (again, fortunately) it can be installed instead of the newer one . After that, 5G magically returned to where it should have been.
