I bought this to replace the clip I was using but it's a lot worse. You can't just separate them blindly. You have to look at it to see how to press it. And the sticking is even worse. Not only can you reattach it blindly, but even if you look at it to reattach it, the magnets will oppose each other. You either have to move it painfully slowly or try multiple times until you get the result you want. Not worth the price and headache. Better use a cheaper 3lb magnet than this engineering atrocity.
