Cord 1/8/Black: This cord is strong but very stiff, not as stretchy as I was hoping. It works fine, but you really need to prepare it to make it work. The black fabric around the gum needs to be melted to keep it from crumbling, a lighter is perfect. Just light the ends you cut for a second and that will fix the wear problem. I use it as a rubber band for homemade face masks and throw them in the wash after a great wash. I haven't tried it in the dryer yet. Cord 1/16/White: This cord is more suitable for making face masks. It is more elastic and less stiff than a thicker cord. The fabric will still wear if you don't melt it with a lighter or something. The first pack I bought worked great (I used them all the way through) but the second pack I bought not only was it completely worn out, the cord wasn't continuous and was tied together in a way that would make the cord better . I didn't measure the cable, but this one also seemed shorter. I returned the second package. Cord 1/16 / Black: So I bought more cord since I still make a lot of face masks. Was hoping to find a longer cable of this size so I don't have to buy more, no luck. Again, I burn the ends of all cords to keep them from fraying. The first package was ok; The cord was continuous and had no fraying. The second package was not scratched but was not solid. It has been rebound which results in more wasted material as I have to cut things to a specific length. What happened to the seller is unclear. I just wished for more consistency. Overall the cable is good and works well. I like it as I have bought several times from this seller. However, when he checks the quality of the cable, it turns out whether the person who packs your order is reliable or not.
