Nice to know it's 4mm

I didn't like the stiffness of this tip. It has a cut diameter of 4 mm. If you want it to be a bit softer for needlework and sewing I would buy the 3mm if you need more flexibility and cord bend. If you want it to be strong and full of body then go for this one. Although the quality and price are good!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Not for Covid-19 masks

I thought it would fit on Covid masks (2 SARS Covid 19) because of its 1/8 inch thickness but it is not. It's too hard and cuts the ear. Hardness cannot be relaxed for mask purposes. I would have spent the same amount for this black cord since I also bought the black one. Must be softer. I'll save it and use it for something else.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Makes angry

Fast delivery in beaded items

Just what I need to make cloth masks with elastic. Much softer than rubber bands from national fabric stores, but just as stretchy and strong. Bought once at the end of March the gum went faster than I thought and happily bought again from the same seller. Delivery was quick both times.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Excellent quality elastic cord.

A few years ago I bought a camera bag and over time the elastic failed. I am buying this product to replace this old cable and I find it to be a better quality than what I originally received with the camera bag. I have to say that I am a very honest and unbiased reviewer. If you liked my review or found it helpful, please click the helpful button below.

Suitable for masks

Arrived as expected. This size was perfect for the sheet masks I make. I used a tiny pony bead to adjust the length of the elastic and it was the right size to fit the bead (inside diameter). If I'm not using a bead, I cut some elastic and tie it to the desired length. The fabric (nylon?) cover may crumble when washed. To avoid this, I tie another knot at the end of the rope. This stops wear and tear.

Pros
  • Bead accessories
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Multiple items updated

Cord 1/8/Black: This cord is strong but very stiff, not as stretchy as I was hoping. It works fine, but you really need to prepare it to make it work. The black fabric around the gum needs to be melted to keep it from crumbling, a lighter is perfect. Just light the ends you cut for a second and that will fix the wear problem. I use it as a rubber band for homemade face masks and throw them in the wash after a great wash. I haven't tried it in the dryer yet. Cord 1/16/White: This cord is more…

Pros
  • Cords and threads for beads
Cons
  • Damaged
