Very far! the best in kitchen and dining

They are very wide so it was difficult to find a shelf that actually fits under them! I found shelves at Home Depot (Rubbermaid I think) and used triangular supports to support them! We used drywall anchors for the shelves. Suggest a preliminary measurement before purchasing. The screws also go a bit into the top of the shelves I bought FYI. Of course my bar needs some work but I love the functionality and the transformation of this odd hole into a bar cart!
