I got an A in my college photography course on an older Pentax K1000 before digital cameras became popular, and I did photography as a hobby when I was younger , but stopped taking pictures over the years because I found early digital cameras depressing. I bought this after not taking photos for many years hoping for a digital camera similar to my old one. Of course, using a digital camera is very different and nothing like my old camera, but if you like taking pictures with a good technical tool, it will give you the same satisfaction. It has a weight that a digital pocket camera does not have. Lots of different settings which might be frustrating for some people but once you get the hang of it like a complex board game you will feel good once it works for you. It has a very good lens that reminds me of my old Pentax lens because it gives my shots a nice dark and sharp quality that is difficult to describe but unique to this brand. If you are looking for a camera that gives your shots a simple "perfection" this may not be for you, but if you love photography for its technical aspects and as a hobby then this is a good camera.
