Works great, no instructions but easy to make

2011 Honda Pilot key broken off original fob. This flip fob doesn't come with instructions, but I've made one for myRidgeline before, so I was familiar. Just note how the spring is installed and twisted as you open the flip fob, remove the insides from the original fob, and assemble. These keys have a contactless chip in the internal unit, which is why they are so expensive to replace. On my pilot it worked great without having to open the indoor unit to move the chip so it was amazing. On my Ridgeline I had to remove the chip from the indoor unit and put it in the flip key fob slot so your mileage may vary by model. Finally, remember that wherever keys are made, it is not possible to cut a blank for a clamshell key fob. The Ace closest to me cuts these types of keys (called side screws) but doesn't do it on your own blank that you bring. Home Depot does not cut these types of keys at all. The closest ace around did it with no problems using a blank flip key - they charged $25 for the job, which I hear the dealers charge.
