Like many reviewers, I was looking for an alternative, cheaper replacement filter for my LG fridge versus LG's expensive OEM filter. The ad for this filter billed for one-third (1/3) of LG's retail price of $49. It looked like the OEM filter that originally came with the unit on arrival and is easy to install. Unfortunately, it took less than a day to conclude that the new filter did nothing to reduce my inherent taste of chlorine in my city water, which the OEM completely removed within the first six months. In short, buyers beware. You get what you pay for! I immediately bought a filter directly from the LG website, installed it, and the water was clear again. For me, a South Korean-made product with additional certificates will be a standard replacement in the future. rather than a Chinese made product, despite the lower cost of a Chinese filter.
