We are using this to store our son's outdoor toys so they don't clutter up the backyard/patio. So there is a mixture of inflatables/water toys etc, some of which are still in their cardboard boxes.That being said after several weeks and many heavy Texas thunderstorms, there have been no leaks detected yet, so I consider that pretty impressive and a testament to the waterproof nature of this deck box.Note that the instructions warn you to wear gloves because of "sharp metal parts", which I did not find (no metal, only plastic); however, note that there ARE several sharp edges possible when snapping off the hinges from their plastic holder (much like snapping off the plastic parts for a model car or plane), so proceed with caution.
