Before ordering these lamps I tried an adapter with a built in photocell. The device turned on in the dark but didn't always turn off in daylight. I bought these lamps to replace adapters. NO MATTER! These lamps themselves capture the daylight and turn on and off at the right time. Because they are LED bulbs, they use very little power and offer a bright, classic filament look.
