Review on Waterproof Bench Seat Cover for Dogs 🐶 and Pets - Fits Cars - PetSafe Happy Ride by Steven Ripley

I bought a new Prius C last year and forgot to buy one for my golden retriever which inevitably takes me almost everywhere. My seats paid their price and it hurt to clean them again. Finally decided to get this one and it's great! The installation was very easy. I thought it might be too big for my small car but it fits great. It was very easy to tighten the straps around the seats to shorten them and the latches that keep them flush with the rear seat are fantastic. They haven't popped out yet, so I'm not worried about them slipping out while driving. Once installed, the next hurdle was seeing if my spoiled child would even sit on this thing. She immediately jumped up and lay down! Even my 8 year old loved it and said we should camp in the back seat?! The gap between the seats is fully closed and flush with the seat so she can't trip or fall, and acts as a barrier to prevent (though probably not prevent!) her from climbing onto my lap in the front seat. I've read some reviews where people have stated that they put the cover back so that the seat belt slots are over the open space and not over the seat to keep debris out of them. While I wish they would also sell a model without seatbelt holes (when my gold is in the back seat, no one else is sitting there, so we don't need access to the seatbelts), I recommend not doing so. I flipped it over just to see and the holes were in such a location that if your furry crotch is in the wrong place your foot will go straight into the hole. The holes are pretty big so I see that all the time unless you have a dog that lies down all the time. In a way, this defeats one of the purposes of having it. Finally, I tested it for waterproofness and poured some water in a bottle on the seat. It definitely held up and the seat was still dry underneath, although I expect some stuff to come through the seatbelt holes. Given their size, I think this is inevitable. I could just tape a long beach towel along the length of the seat to cover the area with no holes. Overall I think this is a great product. I took one star just because I think there should be a model with no seat belt holes or a way to close them on the current model. Even velcro helps. I think I see changes in my future!
