Review on ⚡ Efficient and Modular SilverStone Technology 500W SFX-L Power Supply: 80 Plus Gold, Lengthened Design, Single Rail, Active PFC (SX500-LG) by Loren Schmidt

I'm writing this review after 2 years of intensive use of the 500W SFX-L in my Mini-ITX device. all the way, resulting in blue sparks flying out the back of the power supply. Like an idiot it took me a while to realize what was going on and before I knew it I smelled hot copper and the system shut down. After 20 minutes it wouldn't start anymore. I assumed the computer was dead. Either the power supply exploded or the MOBO burned out. But when I tried to turn it back on the next day, it worked and was like new! It turned out that the SilverStone power supply was some kind of safety mechanism, preventing the system from booting up when the temperature was too high and preventing the system from burning out when a strong electrical discharge was detected. On top of that, after 2 years and this incident, it's still running smooth and quiet and keeps the system cool. Costs. Everyone. a penny **UPDATE** It's 2020, 4 years later, in a hotter climate with worse power and still going strong.
