Good power supply. Short cables

The fan is good, solid and quiet for my admittedly light use. The only thing to note is that the supplied cables for the processor and mobile device are SHORT. How, little man. So for mid-tower ATX you will need extension cords to get to them. The SATA and PCIe cables are long enough to reach the GPU and SATA ports on my MSI B450-A Pro Max mobile phone. Recommended for Micro and Mini ATX cases.

Pros
  • Great workmanship
Cons
  • So far so good

Would be perfect with another fan

The power delivery, efficiency and length/flexibility of the included cables are perfect, but the fan has some annoying quality issues. Like many others, my device's fan suffers from a known issue of "galloping" noise under low to medium loads. However, under heavy loads, it's the quietest fan in my entire system. Sometimes, when the fan wants to start spinning, it doesn't pick up enough RPM for a full spin and starts stuttering a bit, making a strange and very audible sound, akin to filling a…

Works but I have a bloody loud (high pitched screeching)

Used this PSU in my Silverstone ML08 console sized case and it's generally fine. Sometimes the fan stalls and emits a high-pitched screech, sometimes it clicks (at low speeds), and generally it's pretty damn loud. I will return it and if the second one is better I will update my review. sent back. And they said if testing found them to be "in good working order" I would have to pay for shipping back. I'll just buy another one. Downgraded to 1 star rating for terrible RMA process.

Like an idiot the best in computers and accessories

I'm writing this review after 2 years of intensive use of the 500W SFX-L in my Mini-ITX device. all the way, resulting in blue sparks flying out the back of the power supply. Like an idiot it took me a while to realize what was going on and before I knew it I smelled hot copper and the system shut down. After 20 minutes it wouldn't start anymore. I assumed the computer was dead. Either the power supply exploded or the MOBO burned out. But when I tried to turn it back on the next day, it worked…

True small form factor power supply.

Ideal for a small form factor case. With the included ATX adapter, it worked perfectly on my mom's micro-ATX computer. Virtually silent and reliable power supply. Silverstone power supplies have never let me down. Tiny and with cables of the perfect length, they really clean the inside of the housing. Provides excellent airflow. I definitely recommend this device.

SOLID SFX-L PSU

**Pros**Power 500W80 Plus Gold Relatively quiet fan (even without zero speed fan mode in v1) Flat black cables100% modular**Cons**Slightly more SFX form factor ( 130 mm doesn't leave much room for cables in my FTZ01) **Other Thoughts** The V2 of this PSU is actually not much different from its original counterpart. The main change in v2 is the removal of the v1 semi-passive fan mode. There have been some complaints of the fan making a "grinding noise" as well as a slight hum, but this problem…

5 year review of chargers and adapters

So this review is valid for 5 years. I originally bought this power supply as I was looking to purchase the RVZ02B-W case when Silverstone first released it. To be honest all I can say is hello, this works exactly as advertised. It does pick up some dust after a while but I would say this amount is identical to many other power supplies I've dealt with and although I haven't cleaned it in over 2 years I've never had a problem. It's definitely very quiet, which I especially appreciate in such a…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Security

As others have warned. Be sure to test this power supply in service upon receipt or as soon as possible before the return period expires. In Quiet/Silent mode, the fan does not rotate and is silent. but. When the fan is on, the noise is unacceptable. As others have reported, it makes a rattling or clicking noise. Looking at the fan when it's running, the fan blades seem to wobble a bit! After it's been running for a while, the audio fades to a more acceptable level, but you can still hear it…

Good alternative to ST45SF-G. If you want soft cables and less noise

This power supply worked exactly as I expected. Quiet (if not silent), flexible cables, well made. I have this power supply in Lian Li PC-TU100B which Silverstone used to have ST45SF-G. My problem with this PSU is exactly what Silverstone describes in the SX500-LG product description - high noise. It wasn't loud, but it was very noticeable and therefore very annoying. The SX500-LG addresses this very issue with a larger fan and a less aggressive fan curve. Before you buy, make sure it fits your
