I think it would be great for places where there is a decent number of people but not tons of background noise like a mall, but not so far down the road. Neither how, nor how that it is 130 dB. I don't know if the difference is in the models or what, but it didn't seem loud to me. Is it noticeable up close or in a smaller enclosed space? For certainty. But if you're outside and no one is around I don't think it's too loud to put anyone off. The company has a good idea and a good message and I really think that something is better than nothing. It's really easy to use and doesn't take up much space. You can hang it on your own keychain or use the included screw holder. For my purposes, I really wanted something wickedly loud, but I think I'd be better off buying it in person.
